How to use Convert to swap one coin for another
The simplest way to change one coin into another on Usko, with no charts, no order book and one all-in quote.
What you need first
- A verified account with a balance in the coin you want to swap away.
- About one minute.
Convert is the beginner-friendly alternative to the trade screen. You say what you have and what you want, and you get a single quote showing exactly what you will receive. There are no order types, no partial fills and nothing to manage afterwards.
Step 1 — Open Convert
Select Convert from the main menu. You will see two boxes: the coin you are paying with on top, and the coin you want underneath.
Step 2 — Choose the pair
Pick the coin you hold in the first box and the coin you want in the second. The list only offers pairs that Convert supports; if the combination you want is not there, do it on the trade screen instead.
Step 3 — Enter the amount
Type how much you want to swap. Convert shows the amount you will receive. If the amount is below the minimum, or above what your balance allows, the screen tells you before you go any further.
Step 4 — Read the quote
The quote is the whole deal: the rate, the amount out, and any charges shown on the screen. There is no separate fee to work out afterwards. A short countdown shows how long the quote stays valid, because prices move every second.
Step 5 — Confirm before the timer runs out
Select Confirm while the countdown is still running. The first coin leaves your wallet and the second arrives immediately.
If the timer expires, nothing happens to your money at all. Request a fresh quote and the new price is shown before you confirm. This protects you from being filled at a stale price you never saw.
Step 6 — Check your history
Every conversion is recorded in your Convert history with the date, the pair, the rate and both amounts. That record is what you will want at tax time.
Convert or the trade screen?
- Convert — you want it done, simply, at the current price.
- Trade screen — you want to name your own price with a limit order, watch the order book, or trade actively.
Neither is better. They are different tools for different moods.
